Why Logical Reasoning is now the whole ballgame

Under the pre-2024 format, LR contributed roughly half of your scaled score. Under the new format it contributes closer to two-thirds. Small accuracy gains on LR translate into disproportionately large scaled-score gains — see the exact conversion in our raw-to-scaled score chart, and pair it with the law-school target score guide to pin down what LR accuracy you actually need.

How to practice LR effectively

Drill by question type, not by chronological PrepTest. Start with the highest-frequency types — flaw in the reasoning, necessary and sufficient assumption, and strengthen the argument — then move on to structural work like parallel reasoning. Pattern recognition is what separates 165 scorers from 175 scorers.

Bringing it to test day

Once single-type accuracy is stable, transition to a mixed-section timed simulation, then anchor the routine inside our 12-week LSAT prep roadmap.
