Principle questions come in two forms: 'Apply' gives you a principle and asks which situation follows it; 'Identify' gives a situation and asks which principle justifies it.

Strategy for Principle questions

  1. Restate the principle in a general 'if X, then Y' form.
  2. For Apply questions, check the direction — the situation must trigger the antecedent.
  3. For Identify questions, the correct principle must justify every element of the conclusion.
